This week I’m going on a mentor visit. We haven’t discussed what age or condition I’ll be reviewing, so that will be a little surprise for me Wednesday. This weekend will also be a four-day weekend, and my family and I thought it would be a great time to tour some colleges. I’ll the visiting The University of Arizona and Arizona State University, where are actually the colleges my mentor, Ariel Vovakes, attended for her studying in speech-language pathology. Not only is it great to talk about products I’m making in ISM and upcoming events, but it’s also great to be talking about what I should be expecting in college going into this career route. Next week we have our research showcase event, so in preparation for that, I’ve already handed out most of my invitations, completed my display board, and much more. I’m very thrilled to be able to share my experience learning about speech-language pathology with my friends, family, and teachers that will be attending. As I continue to work with Ms. Vovakes, on my final product board game and “parent pyramid,” I hope to grow my understanding in this career to excel in it in the future.
