About my Mentor

  Ariel Vovakes currently is a speech-language pathologist at Frisco Feeding and Speech Therapy located in Frisco, Texas. Practicing speech pathology since 2020, Ms. Vovakes studied communication disorders at Arizona State University, and received her masters in speech pathology at the University of Arizona. Her interests include working pediatrics for feeding and swallowing disorders, infant feeding difficulties, orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs), cognitive-communication disorders and early language development.

Working with Ms. Vovakes has been a rewarding experience I will forever be grateful for. She’s opened up the opportunity for me to sit-in on patients of all ages where I get to see how she helps them practice their speech or feeding problems each session. Even after the sit- in sessions, our one on one meetings have been very informative where I have gained an enormous amount of knowledge on how to better prepare myself for this field, as well as what I should expect. Her mentoring has truly made an impact on me. She has inspired me to want to go into this profession even more, to help patients and to make a difference in the speech pathology community.
