As I've continued my journey into the ISM program, I have been taught the planning that comes before finding a mentor. This includes researching about my topic, figuring out the proper entire to wear for presentations and interviews, the traveling procedures, and planning the contact list of future people I'd like to talk to. At first, this whole process seemed very overwhelming to me. I've never realized how much effort it takes to put yourself out there into the real work environment. I know, however, that by the end of this program I'll become a well-rounded individual ready for college and the years after that. Additionally, I researched the relationship between apps and speech pathology. There has been a variety of apps created to ensure at-home or on-the-go therapy. These apps have developed online games to entertain and interact with the patients, resulting in successful treatments as there would be in-person as well. Our generation today is based on technology, so the apps create easy access to all ages needing help with speech impediments. When I become a speech-language pathologist, I hope to not only help my in-person patients but recommend these helpful apps to others to ensure everyone is receiving proper care.
